About MĀUA

Built by a group of Frenchmen who love Bali – the landscapes, the culture, and the people, MĀUA Nusa Penida offers 25 Villas with private pools enshrined in a hilltop towering Gamat Bay. In the distance, the East Bali coastline is dominated by Mount Agung. Enjoy spectacular ocean views as you listen to the waves crash and the rustlings from the surrounding jungle. The concrete, modernistic architecture, combined with beautiful landscaped and original limestone terraces, blend this unique hotel perfectly into the surroundings. The resort also comprises a spa and a spacious pool area, with a restaurant and bar, to enjoy quality food and drinks and socialize while enjoying the unique hilltop views.

Villas at MĀUA

Accommodation consists of 25 Air-Conditioned Villas all including a garden and a private pool. There are 17 x one-bedroom villas (75 sqm). Due to the terrain and preservation of trees, each one is unique in it's layout. Then there are 6 x One-bedroom villas with living rooms (94 sqm). These villas display a premium view over the Ceningan channel. Finally, there are 2 x luxurious two-bedrooms villas (110 sqm) with a large open-plan living room.

By using a sloped configuration and glass panels whenever possible, all villas have wonderful views while offering excellent privacy, both indoors and outdoors. Villa furniture is made from recycled ironwood, embodying the perfect imperfections of nature which are the essence of the Wabi-Sabi concept applied throughout the resort. Sustainability is discrete, though everywhere, from the passive cooling and thermal insulation of the villas, the grey water recycling as well as the ban of disposable plastics.

Amenities include: integrated universal power outlet, hair dryer, mini fridge, room safe, cable TV, air conditioning, tea/coffee facilities, bathroom with shower, wifi, eco-friendly toiletries.

Dining at MĀUA

KŌWHAI Restaurant: Overlooking a picturesque hill and swimming pool, the casual all-day dining restaurant provides alfresco seating options. It offers organic cuisines and a ‘Fresh from the Farm’ a la carte menu concept for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, using seasonal produce from their garden.

Aroha Bar: Sip on an array of thirst-quenching drinks while sunbathing or after enjoying outdoor activities. The Bar offers refreshing drinks and light snacks throughout the day. It is located next to the restaurant, adjacent to the swimming pool.
