About The Asa Maia

Situated in the beautiful and renowned surf area Uluwatu, on the Bukit Peninsula, The Asa Maia is a peaceful, adult-only, sanctuary and wellness retreat. With just ten guest suites arrayed around an airy central pavilion, it is an intimate resort, only 100 yards from the closest beach yet tucked just far enough into the jungle to feel like you’re in a world of your own.

From centuries-old stone, and painstakingly restored buildings, to specially curated Indonesian art and artefacts adorning the property it is timeless and classic, paying tribute to local cultures. The Asa Maia aims to promote healing within the body through their "rest and digest" approach. Curate your own wellness experience with their range of classes and activities and leave the resort relaxed and re-inspired.

Rooms at Asa Maia

There are ten guest suites at the Asa Maia. These century-old wooden structures are known as Gladaks: traditional, hand-hewn, vernacular Javanese homes. Each hand-picked in East Java, painstakingly disassembled, carefully transported and reassembled at the Asa Maia. Fitted with high-end bath fixtures, traditional Indonesian hand-poured cement tiles, copper or Belgian Bluestone bathtubs, imported linen bedding, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, Bose sound, custom furnishings and original art. The once-humble Gladaks are now fully ready to become your sanctuary. Choose between one of their cosy studios, a spacious King Suite or if travelling with friends the Twin Suite, comprised of two double beds, is the perfect option.

Dining at Asa Maia

The dishes at Asa Maia are focused on nutrition with impact, to boost your concentration and energy, sleep and better balance your mind, spirit and body. They offer a range of vegan and pescatarian menu choices using locally sourced ingredients perfectly balancing raw and cooked ingredients. From fluffy pancakes to fresh juices and smoothies, freshly grilled fish and salads – enjoy the benefits of clean eating without having to think about it.
