Simon Kenyon Takes The Reins at Offbeat Riding

Simon and Rosy Kenyon, Jakob Von Plessen and Daisy Soames take the reins at Offbeat Riding Safaris.

In August 2024, Simon and Rosy Kenyon, Jakob Von Plessen and Daisy Soames took the reins of Offbeat Riding Safaris, buying the company from the Voorspuy family who founded it in 1989.

It is a very exciting step in the future of the company; all four new owners were mentored by Tristan and Cindy for many years, and all four feel very deeply about continuing the legacy of offering exceptional riding safaris across Kenya’s most beautiful and wildlife-rich wildernesses.

"We would like to thank you all for your continued support in Offbeat Riding Safaris. We continue to offer mobile horseback safaris in the Masai Mara and Laikipia. The traditional mobile tented camp moves every other day, as the riders continue on horseback, crossing diverse landscapes and interacting with abundant wildlife along the way. Our safaris provide some of the best game-viewing in the world, with regular encounters with elephant, buffalo, zebra, giraffe and lion, and all from the back of a horse." Simon Kenyon, Offbeat
"It's great to know that this iconic safari will live on in the safest of hands - hands which have helped build into one of Africa's best riding safaris." Ben Nelson, Nelson Travel
