Safari Beach Honeymoon
Start your next adventure

A safari and beach honeymoon combines fun, exploration and relaxation in some of the most breathtaking beach and wildlife locations on earth. The perfect way to begin married life!

We understand the draw of Seychelles, Mauritius and Maldives, but our pick would be East Africa. The safari experience here is unrivalled and with simple flights to the coast or Zanzibar at your disposal, there is little need to go further field.
Safari and Beach Honeymoons
Nothing quite compares to the moment you first see a wild animal in its native environment; it will move you to your very core. A positive safari experience will stick with you always. On honeymoon, the majority of newlyweds choose to experience the excitement of a safari first, giving themselves about a week to rest up and relax on a gorgeous beach. To truly experience the bush setting, give yourself at least 3 nights (4 nights is even better). Conversation and intimacy are essential; safari tales often last late into the night around campfires or community dining tables.
Where to go
The location of your safari honeymoon is a key decision. Visit countries like South Africa, Kenya or Tanzania if you want to view the classic "Big Five" — the lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. Next, consider the kind of safari experience you truly desire. Are plunge pools and spas more important to you than a real under-the-canvas tented camp? Would you prefer to spend the night outside? Your choice of safari location can be significantly influenced by the beach portion of your honeymoon. Tanzanian and Kenyan honeymoons pair beautifully with the Kenyan Coast & Zanzibar, while Mozambique and Mauritius are good partners for South African honeymoons. You can reduce travel expenses and save money by selecting locations that are closer to one another.
When to go
Destinations differ, but ultimately the dry season is a great time for a safari honeymoon. This is when safari conditions are generally at their optimum. Kenya's Masai Mara and Tanzania's Serengeti are best either from December to March or from July to October, and if you're lucky, you'll witness the wildebeest migration! Few spectacles can compete with this great natural wonder - a million wildebeest and other herding animals pounding the African plains in search of fresh grasslands and water. Each year, the wildebeest, along with zebra and antelope, gather up their young and start their long trek from Tanzania's Serengeti Plains further north to Kenya's Masai Mara. It is one of the most enthralling game viewing spectacles on earth and tops almost every list of safari experiences.
