Camp

The central communal area beckons visitors to unwind and savor the moment. Complete with a fully stocked bar, a cozy lounge, an airy dining space, and an upstairs library catering to book enthusiasts, the property provides a perfect retreat. The swimming pool, positioned on the outer deck's edge, offers uninterrupted views of Ruaha, creating an ideal setting to relax after a day of wildlife observation. The lounge and dining areas have been meticulously designed to evoke a homey atmosphere, and they have succeeded admirably.

Rooms

Ikuka's stone and thatch bandas exude rustic charm while incorporating every conceivable luxury, from 24-hour electricity to consistently hot water. Each banda features generously-sized king beds adorned with pure cotton linen and ample storage for traveler essentials. A detached bathroom with double vanity and a mini lounge area enhance the comfort of the stay. Outside, an inviting veranda showcases the breathtaking views once more—simply open the mesh doors and curtains to greet the morning.

Activity

In addition to on-site activities such as reading, swimming, and relishing the scenic views, Ikuka offers remarkable game drives in Ruaha National Park. Photography enthusiasts can join Mark on a drive, where he imparts easy tips for capturing coveted wildlife shots. The property also excels in offering walking safaris, providing ample time for an on-foot exploration of the extraordinary park.

Ruaha National Park

Home to an incredible diversity of wildlife, including some of the largest populations of elephant and lion left anywhere in Africa, Ruaha is known for its diverse landscapes of savannah, mighty baobab trees, miombo, rocky hills, kopjes and the Great Ruaha River.

Bird watching

Ruaha is a birder’s paradise; more than 500 species of birds have been spotted here, including eagles, ospreys, herons, pelicans, ducks, geese, bee-eaters and guineafowls. Don't forget your binoculars!
