Located on the edge of the Shinde Lagoon, the camp is beautifully designed to reflect a timeless safari aesthetic, combining traditional canvas with contemporary touches. Elevated walkways connect the central mess area to the guest tents, all set beneath a canopy of ancient jackalberry trees. Rooms

Shinde features eight spacious safari tents, each elevated and thoughtfully positioned for privacy and views. The interiors blend elegant wooden furnishings with soft linens and offer en-suite bathrooms complete with both indoor and outdoor showers. The design balances classic safari style with comfort, while private verandas provide a peaceful spot to take in the Delta’s ever-changing light and wildlife activity.

Dining

Dining at Shinde is a sociable and elegant experience, typically shared at a long communal table in the open-sided dining tent or beneath the stars. Meals are freshly prepared by an in-house chef, with menus that include a mix of international favourites and locally inspired dishes. Sundowners by the firepit and early morning coffees in the bush add thoughtful touches to the daily rhythm.

Activity

Guests at Shinde enjoy an excellent variety of activities thanks to the camp’s unique location on both permanent water and dry land. Game drives, bush walks, and motorboat safaris are offered year-round, while mokoro excursions (traditional dugout canoe) provide a serene way to explore the Delta’s channels. The area is known for its rich wildlife including predators like lion and leopard, large herds of elephants, and abundant birdlife, making each outing both thrilling and diverse.
