One of the Serengeti’s most established safari camps, Klein’s Camp combines vintage safari charm with the exclusivity of a private concession leased from the local Maasai community. The lodge’s stone-and-thatch architecture blends naturally into its surroundings, while warm hospitality and expert guiding create a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. Staying on a private concession allows guests to enjoy experiences not permitted in the national park, including guided bush walks, night drives and off-road game viewing, offering a more immersive safari.  

Rooms

Accommodation comprises just ten spacious stone cottages, including one family cottage, each positioned for privacy and uninterrupted valley views. The cottages feature classic safari interiors with rich wooden floors, comfortable king or twin beds, en-suite bathrooms and private verandas where guests can relax while watching wildlife move across the plains below. The timeless design creates a warm and authentic safari atmosphere without compromising on comfort.  

Dining

Dining at Klein’s Camp celebrates fresh, seasonal cuisine served in a variety of memorable settings. Meals can be enjoyed in the elegant dining room beside the open fireplace, beneath the stars in the bush or overlooking the concession from scenic outdoor locations. Much of the produce is sourced from the camp’s own organic vegetable garden, while carefully selected South African wines and sunset sundowners complete the experience.  

Activity

Game drives through the private concession and neighbouring Serengeti offer outstanding opportunities to encounter the Big Five, large elephant herds and abundant resident wildlife throughout the year, while the Great Migration passes through the area seasonally. Exclusive activities include guided bush walks, night drives and authentic Maasai cultural visits, providing unique perspectives on both the wildlife and the people who call this remarkable landscape home. Balloon safaris can also be arranged for a spectacular aerial view of the Serengeti at sunrise.
