DumaTau Camp

Wilderness DumaTau is a luxurious safari camp set in Botswana’s wildlife-rich Linyanti region, renowned for its extraordinary elephant encounters and exceptional predator sightings. Overlooking the Linyanti waterways and ancient elephant corridors, it combines contemporary luxury with unforgettable safari experiences in one of Africa’s last great wildernesses.

About
Nestled within the private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, Wilderness DumaTau occupies a spectacular position between two major elephant corridors with over 45 kilometres of river frontage. Its name, meaning “roar of the lion” in Setswana, reflects the abundance of predators found here, although the camp is equally famous for hosting one of Africa’s largest elephant populations. Recently reimagined with elegant contemporary interiors inspired by the surrounding landscape, the camp combines refined design with Wilderness’ longstanding commitment to conservation. Expansive decks, lagoon views and beautifully crafted communal spaces create an immersive connection to the remarkable wilderness that surrounds it.
Rooms
Accommodation comprises eight ultra-spacious tented suites, including a two-bedroom family suite, all raised on wooden walkways overlooking the lagoon and surrounding bush. Each suite features contemporary African-inspired interiors with handcrafted finishes, natural textures and floor-to-ceiling canvas walls that maximise the views. Private plunge pools, generous indoor and outdoor living spaces, and elegant bathrooms create a luxurious retreat where wildlife frequently wanders past just beyond the deck.
Dining
Dining at DumaTau celebrates fresh, seasonal ingredients and relaxed safari living. Guests can enjoy elegant meals overlooking the lagoon, al fresco dining on the floating barge, healthy dishes and fresh juices from the Osprey Lagoon Deli, or memorable bush breakfasts and sundowner drinks in scenic wilderness locations. Warm hospitality, exceptional cuisine and ever-changing settings make every meal part of the safari experience.
Activity
Twice-daily game drives reveal the incredible wildlife of the Linyanti, including vast elephant herds, lions, leopards, African wild dogs, buffalo and abundant birdlife. Guided walking safaris offer a closer appreciation of the bush, while boating excursions along the Linyanti waterways provide a unique perspective on hippos, crocodiles and elephants. Guests can also enjoy catch-and-release fishing (seasonal), spa treatments, photography from the wildlife hide and stargazing beneath Botswana’s exceptionally clear night skies.
