Davison's Camp

About

Named after Ted Davison, the first warden of Hwange National Park, Wilderness Davison’s captures the essence of a traditional African safari. Tucked beneath a grove of false mopane trees in the private Linkwasha Concession, the camp enjoys access to one of the park’s most prolific wildlife areas, where year-round water attracts large concentrations of elephants, buffalo and predators. Classic canvas tents, open-sided communal spaces and uninterrupted views across the plains create an authentic bush atmosphere, while Wilderness’ commitment to conservation and community partnerships adds depth to the guest experience.  

Rooms

Accommodation comprises just nine spacious en-suite safari tents, including one family tent, each thoughtfully positioned to overlook the camp’s busy waterhole. Interiors feature earthy tones, natural materials and elegant safari-inspired furnishings that reflect the surrounding landscape. Private verandas provide the perfect vantage point for watching wildlife gather throughout the day, while the camp’s understated design allows nature to take centre stage.  

Dining

Dining at Davison’s celebrates fresh, locally sourced ingredients and the relaxed traditions of safari life. Guests can enjoy leisurely breakfasts, lunches on the shaded deck and candlelit dinners around the campfire beneath Zimbabwe’s star-filled skies. Scenic sundowner stops during game drives and fireside evenings overlooking the waterhole make every meal an integral part of the safari experience.  

Activities

Twice-daily game drives and guided walking safaris showcase the exceptional wildlife of the Linkwasha Concession, renowned for its large elephant herds, lions, leopards, cheetahs, African wild dogs and diverse birdlife. Night drives offer the chance to encounter elusive nocturnal species, while cultural visits to nearby communities and conservation experiences provide insight into the region’s people and ongoing wildlife protection efforts. With exclusive access to both the Linkwasha and Makalolo wilderness areas, guests enjoy one of Hwange’s finest safari experiences.
