Serian Lamai

Serian Lamai is a beautifully intimate camp situated in the wild heart of the Lamai Wedge in northern Serengeti. Located under a kilometre from the Mara River, it offers dramatic, front-row access to wildebeest river crossings during the Great Migration, while also providing year-round sightings of lions, elephants, leopards in uncrowded wilderness.

About
Run by Alex Walker’s Serian, this camp is designed with a light footprint and classic safari style—set under acacia trees, with mobile tents that blend seamlessly into the landscape. The camp embodies social safari philosophy, encouraging shared moments around the fire pit and communal dining, while offering the exclusivity of private vehicles, expert guides, and a deeply personal connection to nature.
Rooms
The camp comprises eight handcrafted double tents and two family suites, all featuring en-suite bathrooms with flushing toilets and showers, large wrought-iron beds, Moroccan rugs, and private verandas overlooking the plains. The design is elegant yet understated, balancing comfort with the authenticity of a mobile safari experience.
Dining
Dining takes place in the mess tent—a warm, welcoming space with a bar, lounge seating, and a large table for communal meals. Food is “farmhouse-fresh,” blending local and international flavours, and is served under the stars when weather permits. Sundowners and bush meals add to the camp’s relaxed, convivial atmosphere.
Activity
The camp offers flexible, tailor-made safari experiences: guests enjoy unlimited game drives with private guides, walking safaris (for children 12+), and fly‑camping adventures under the African sky. Most notably, it provides exceptional access to river crossings during the migration and to the predator-rich Lamai Wedge and Wogakuria Kopjes, all from a secluded base.
