Chinzombo

Chinzombo is an intimate, high-end safari lodge nestled on a sweeping bend of the Luangwa River in the heart of the old safari country of the South Luangwa, Zambia. With just six luxurious villas tucked beneath ancient msikizi trees and direct frontage onto a wildlife-rich ribbon of river, the lodge delivers a rare blend of remote wilderness, refined comfort and dramatic river-side scenery.

About
Situated on a sweeping curve of the Luangwa River, Chinzombo brings style and sophistication to the Luangwa Valley. This wildly luxurious camp retains its bush authenticity with grass and canvas walls and spacious living areas that melt into the exquisitely tranquil riverside setting. Colonial accents complement organic textures, creating an authentic feel that harkens back to the early days of exploration. With soaking tubs and feathertop beds, every villa is a haven for relaxation. Relax by your villas private pool, watching the rivers frequent wildlife visitors. Under the shade of ancient trees, listen to the bellows of hippos echoing across the river.
Rooms
The six villas have been exquisitely designed and adorned with all the luxurious details you would anticipate, and even more. The king-size beds are adorned with fine linens and kept cool by a state-of-the-art air conditioning system. The spacious bathrooms and dressing areas feature walk-in showers, double basins, and elegant bathtubs with breathtaking views. Outside, you can take your pick from sun loungers, a sunken seating area, or a private plunge pool, providing the perfect setting for a relaxing afternoon away from the exhilarating game drives.
Dining
Dining at Chinzombo is stylish yet relaxed, anchored around an open-air dining and bar pavilion tucked among riverine trees. Meals draw on fresh, locally sourced produce, and are often enjoyed beside the river or under the stars. The communal fire-pit on the bluff above the river offers a scenic atmosphere for sundowner drinks or evening meals. For a personal touch, the lodge also offers in-villa spa treatments or romantic dinners on your private deck overlooking the water.
Activity
Game drives are conducted in the Mfuwe sector of the park, and upon request, walking safaris can also be arranged. The wildlife in this area is abundant, and with the expert knowledge of Abes and Shaddy, the sightings are truly spectacular. If the peak season brings a bit more crowd, you can pack a picnic and venture to one of the more secluded corners of this expansive wilderness. Starting from December, the park transforms into a lush green paradise, and you can even enjoy boating down the river, especially if you combine your stay with our sister camp, Kakuli.
