LABA Migration Camp

LABA Migration Camp is an intimate luxury mobile safari camp that moves seasonally between three locations in Tanzania’s Serengeti ecosystem, following the movements of the Great Migration. From the southern plains of Ndutu to the western corridor and northern Serengeti, the camp is positioned to provide excellent access to the migrating herds at different times of year.

About
LABA Migration Camp captures the atmosphere of an old-fashioned expedition while offering considerably more comfort than a traditional mobile camp. The interiors take inspiration from the naturalist explorers of the 19th century, with canvas, timber and carefully selected furnishings creating a distinctive character. Communal areas include a comfortable lounge, library, bar, dining tent and dedicated fitness tent, while the small scale of the camp ensures an intimate atmosphere. Its seasonal movements allow guests to experience different parts of the Serengeti according to the wildlife activity.
Rooms
Accommodation comprises just 10 spacious tented suites, including two family tents, positioned to provide privacy and views across the surrounding wilderness. Each tent combines traditional canvas styling with comfortable beds, quality linens, an en-suite bathroom with a shower and freestanding bathtub, and a private veranda. Interiors are thoughtfully furnished with natural materials and subtle explorer-inspired details, while the family tents offer interconnected bedrooms for those travelling with children. Despite the camp’s mobile nature, accommodation is notably comfortable and well equipped.
Dining
Dining is relaxed but carefully considered, with an emphasis on fresh, healthy cuisine prepared using locally sourced and organic ingredients wherever possible. Meals are served in the main dining tent or outdoors, allowing guests to enjoy the surrounding landscape throughout the day. Picnic breakfasts and lunches can be arranged during longer game drives, while evenings typically begin with sundowners before dinner beneath the stars or around the campfire. The atmosphere is informal and sociable, reflecting the camp’s traditional safari character.
Activity
Game drives are the main focus, with each booking benefiting from a private safari vehicle and dedicated guide, allowing considerable flexibility over the day’s activities. Between December and March, the camp is positioned around Ndutu for the migration’s calving season, while the western Serengeti provides opportunities to follow the herds as they move north during May and June. From July to November, the camp relocates to the Kogatende region, offering access to the dramatic Mara River crossings. Guided walking safaris provide another perspective on the wilderness, while hot-air balloon flights and special bush dining experiences can also be arranged.
