The Rote Wand Gourmet Hotel blends heritage with modern grandeur and culinary expertise to create an Alpine paradise for foodies and design connoisseurs. It is tucked into the picturesque Austrian village of Lech am Arlberg, just 250m from the closest ski lift (Zugerberg) and 2 miles to the resort centre. The hotel, which is made up of five "houses" and an old schoolhouse, has been built in keeping with local architecture and enhances the areas local charm. To reach the five houses, you must travel through the legendary "Rote Gang" underground passage. Despite it's size the hotel has maintained a laid-back atmosphere, that allows you to truly unwind.
The hotel has a total of 132 beds, across 50 rooms and suites. Each guest-room at the hotel is furnished with items created by regional artisans to maintain the village's classic vibe, each with it's own balcony, flat-screen cable TV, bathroom with bathrobes and a hairdryer.
Foodies will not be left disappointed at Rote Wand. Your host Joschi Walch is one of the most passionate foodies you can imagine. When time permits, he travels with his wife Natascha all over the world to discover culinary insider tips and trendy gourmet hotspots.
There are many spots to enjoy their hotel’s culinary delights, from the Chef’s Table, which occupies the old dairy/schoolhouse – a more formal setting where you can enjoy regional dishes paired with fine wines. Whilst Stuben is a contemporary restaurant, open for lunch and dinner, where you can enjoy dishes such as venison ragout and pumpkin gnocci. The bar and lounge are open for breakfast lunch and dinner and snacks in between. This is perhaps our favourite spot… Pre-order a genuine Rote Wand cheese fondue with selected cheeses from the sommelier Caspar Greber, and enjoy it amongst friends as you recline on the sunny outdoor terrace.
