St Regis Vommuli

The St. Regis Vommuli is an ultra-luxury private island retreat set within the remote Dhaalu Atoll, surrounded by white-sand beaches, tropical vegetation and the clear waters of the Indian Ocean. Combining striking architecture with spacious villas, excellent dining and a butler service, it is one of the Maldives’ more sophisticated high-end resorts.

About
Reached by a scenic seaplane flight of around 40 minutes from Malé, the resort occupies the naturally beautiful Vommuli Island and has been designed around its different environments, from dense tropical gardens to beach and lagoon. The architecture is a standout feature, with buildings inspired by the surrounding marine life, including the manta ray-shaped overwater villas, whale shark-inspired Whale Bar and lobster-shaped Iridium Spa. Service is another major strength, with every villa benefiting from a dedicated St. Regis Butler throughout the stay.
Rooms
Accommodation comprises 77 villas, with 33 on the island and 44 positioned over the water. All have their own private pool and terrace, with categories ranging from Garden, Beach and Overwater Villas through to spacious two-bedroom residences and some exceptional larger estates. The villas are contemporary and generously proportioned, with large bedrooms, luxurious bathrooms and extensive indoor and outdoor living space. At the top end, the three-bedroom John Jacob Astor Estate is an enormous overwater residence with its own infinity pool, gym, cinema and direct access to the lagoon.
Dining
Dining is a real strength, with seven distinctive restaurants and bars providing plenty of variety. ALBA offers Mediterranean cuisine throughout the day, while Orientale specialises in Asian dishes and sushi, and the intimate T•Pan serves a modern Japanese kaiseki experience. Cargo provides an atmospheric alternative amongst the tropical gardens, while Crust & Craft is a relaxed beachfront option. The spectacular overwater Whale Bar is the place for cocktails and tapas at sunset, while Decanter offers private dining accompanied by carefully selected wines.
Activity
There is plenty to do beyond relaxing on the beach, with snorkelling, diving, kayaking, paddleboarding and a wide variety of motorised watersports available. Dhaalu Atoll offers excellent marine life and more than 40 dive sites, while dolphin cruises, fishing trips and private yacht excursions can also be arranged. The impressive overwater Iridium Spa has six treatment suites and an extensive hydrotherapy pool, while Vommuli House provides fitness, yoga, tennis and recreational facilities. Families are particularly well catered for with a dedicated children’s club and activities.
