Awasi Patagonia

About

Located just outside Torres del Paine National Park, Awasi Patagonia provides a more secluded alternative to staying within the park itself. The lodge and its villas draw inspiration from traditional Patagonian refuges and gaucho outposts, using natural materials and low-impact construction to blend into the landscape. The surrounding private reserve provides a haven for wildlife including guanacos, ñandús, foxes, condors and pumas, while the lodge’s position offers sweeping views across the forest, Lake Sarmiento and the granite peaks of Torres del Paine.  

Rooms

Accommodation is arranged in private villas designed to feel like individual Patagonian refuges. Standard Villas feature spacious interiors, fireplaces, central heating and large windows framing the surrounding wilderness, while the larger Master Villa has two bedrooms and a separate living area. Each villa has its own outdoor hot tub and is positioned for privacy and views, with the current lodge offering 14 private villas.  

Dining

Dining is an important part of the Awasi experience, with the restaurant exclusively reserved for lodge guests and a focus on the flavours and ingredients of southern Chile. Fresh fish from the South Pacific fjords, Patagonian lamb, king crab, seasonal vegetables and native berries feature prominently, with menus adapted to guests’ preferences. Meals can also be taken outdoors during excursions, with picnics and lunches served against the dramatic backdrop of mountains, valleys and Patagonian steppe.  

Activity

Every villa is assigned a private guide and 4x4 vehicle, allowing each day’s adventures to be tailored around individual interests, fitness levels and the weather. Experiences range from hiking in Torres del Paine and exploring the Grey Glacier and Base Torres to horseback riding, cycling, wildlife observation and scenic drives through the private reserve and surrounding landscapes. Dedicated puma tracking is also available, while the winter season brings opportunities for snowshoeing and horseback riding across snow-covered Patagonia.
