About

Located on Mansa Beach, approximately 20 kilometres northeast of Punta del Este, Bahia Vik occupies four hectares of coastal dunes overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The property centres on a striking main building constructed from Uruguayan slate, with open-plan living spaces, landscaped courtyards and reflecting pools that blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. Its architecture celebrates indoor-outdoor living, while contemporary artworks, distinctive interiors and native vegetation give each space an individual character. With José Ignacio’s celebrated restaurants, art galleries and laid-back beach culture close by, Bahia Vik offers an ideal base for discovering Uruguay’s fashionable coastline.  

Rooms

Bahia Vik offers 49 rooms and suites distributed between the main building and a collection of 15 individually designed bungalows nestled among the dunes. The ten suites in the main building feature private terraces, contemporary furnishings and original artworks by Uruguayan artists, with many enjoying views of the gardens, beach and ocean. The bungalows provide a more private residential experience, with distinctive architectural designs, vibrant interiors and a seamless connection to the outdoors. Several are positioned directly beside the beach, while larger bungalow configurations accommodate families and groups travelling together.  

Dining

Dining at Bahia Vik celebrates the flavours of Uruguay, combining locally sourced ingredients with fresh seafood, seasonal produce and traditional open-fire cooking. The signature restaurant, Zodíaco, offers a relaxed yet sophisticated setting, with indoor and outdoor dining spaces overlooking the dunes and reflecting pools. Guests can enjoy fresh fish, seafood, locally grown vegetables, homemade breads and regional specialities, accompanied by wines from the Vik vineyard in Chile. Nearby, La Susana provides a lively beachfront alternative, with casual dining, grilled dishes, cocktails and spectacular sunset views over the Atlantic.  

Activity

Bahia Vik offers an extensive range of experiences that combine coastal relaxation with outdoor adventure and local culture. Guests can swim in the Atlantic, relax beside the property’s four swimming pools or enjoy surfing, paddleboarding, kiteboarding and cycling along the coast. Horseback riding, golf, tennis and polo lessons are also available through the wider Vik Retreats collection.
