About

Originally established as the Convent of Santa Clara in 1621, the property has evolved over four centuries before reopening as a hotel in 1995 and joining the Sofitel Legend collection in 2012. Its historic architecture, including stone archways, vaulted spaces and tranquil courtyards, preserves the spirit of the former convent, while contemporary comforts and French-inspired service create a luxurious urban retreat. Located in Cartagena’s UNESCO-listed historic centre, the hotel places guests within easy reach of colourful colonial streets, historic churches, museums, boutiques and the city’s lively Caribbean culture.
