La Clé Lodge has five exquisitely comfortable en-suite bedrooms to choose from. You can book to stay at the lodge on a per-room basis or book exclusively. The Lodge enjoys the unique position of being on a wine farm but just 5 minutes walk from the Franschhoek main street with all of it’s wonderful restaurants.  This is your home away from home in the heart of the village.

Rooms

Nestled in the centre of Franschhoek, our lodge offers expansive views, a tennis court, putt and chip lawn and helipad. With design and finishes by Jacques Erasmus of Hemelhuijs, modern styling meets the classic charm of a traditional Cape Dutch home. There are five exquisitely comfortable en-suite bedrooms to choose from and you can book to stay at the lodge per room and enjoy a home away from home in the heart of the village.

Petite Rooms: Cosy and welcoming, the two Petite Rooms,under traditional thatch are just that: charming and comfortable retreats to return to after a day spent exploring Franschhoek village on foot or sampling the gourmet food and wines of the valley. Both rooms are linked by a lounge area at the top of the stairs

Courtyard Rooms: Secluded yet generous, the Courtyard Room has direct access to the beautiful gardens of La Clé des Montagnes from its private patio. It also has the most luxurious bathroom in the Lodge. Choose a bicycle and ride around the village, or relax with a good read around the pool.

Garden Rooms: Designed for elegant living and with high ceilings, the two Garden Rooms are beautifully spacious and flow seamlessly outdoors to the wisteria-covered verandah with views towards the pool and vineyards. Stroll through our peaceful gardens and vineyards, relax around the swimming pools or simply cocoon in these calm havens.

Villas: Choose between four distinctly different villas on the working farm, each one a private and peaceful retreat. Book one or all of them with family and friends for a blissfully relaxing stay in Franschhoek. Your home away from home on a working farm just a few minutes’ walk from the heart of the village. The villas can accommodate groups of 4 - 10.

Food

The Lodge offers simple evening meals with a South African twist, and delicious platters to enjoy with a glass of wine from the Franschhoek valley overlooking the vineyards.  Additionally, a traditional ‘braai’ can be arranged and prepared by one of the local chefs.  All of the meals are centred around using what is available seasonally and the Lodge aims to source as much as they can from the surrounding areas. the rates include a farm-style breakfast, inclusive of homemade bread, jams, local cheeses, fruits, charcuterie, eggs, bacon and more.
