Kigelia's carefully judged simplicity allows for a particular intimacy with the bush.

Kigelia Ruaha is a wonderful camp set in the best game region of the tremendous Ruaha National Park. The camp is the best place to set out and explore the immense wilderness that surrounds you.

Every one of the six individual tents, set underneath the branches of the Sausage Tree, are spacious, superbly fitted and well equipped. They are also wonderfully styled. For your en-suite bathroom, enjoy an en-suite with a hot safari-style bucket shower and a flush loo (under the stars).

Following an exhilarating day of game viewing, you can loosen up around the pit fire with your sundowners, looking at the baobab outlines and the stars. Straightforward yet delicious suppers can be served to you around the fire or in a separate dining tent.

From dawn to nightfall, Ruaha National Park is brimming with adventure and special African beauty. Your game drives will be sure to be eventful. Hopefully, you will find lions, panthers, cheetah, zebra, giraffe and monkeys, among numerous others, meanwhile being entertained by birdsong from the magnificent birdlife.

Fun Fact

Ruaha is home to 10% of Africa's lion population so they are never too far away

Dry Season

Dry season and wildlife congregate along rivers. Herds of hundreds of buffalo elephant are not uncommon, nor are leopard, lion and cheetah. Walking is easier and the dry river beds often make useful pathways through the bush.

Green Season

The bush is luscious and green with plenty of game still about, with low season prices.
