Overview

Governors’ Il Moran Camp is an intimate luxury safari camp set along the banks of the Mara River in the heart of Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve. The camp’s elevated position within riverine forest provides panoramic views of the river and surrounding plains, where elephants, hippos, giraffes, and other wildlife roam freely. With just ten beautifully appointed tents, interiors blend classic safari style with African artistry, offering an atmosphere that is both adventurous and refined. Rooms

The camp’s ten luxury tents are positioned along the Mara River, each featuring a private veranda and en-suite bathroom. Tents are generously furnished and include standalone bathtubs, showers, twin basins, flush toilets, and hot and cold running water, delivering comfort while maintaining a strong connection to the surrounding wilderness. Elevated verandas offer excellent wildlife viewing, with elephants, hippos, and other species often visible just outside.

Dining

Dining at Il Moran Camp is relaxed yet refined, with meals served on the raised deck of the main mess overlooking the Mara River. Breakfast offers continental and full English options, while lunch is plated with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Dinner combines buffets and plated service, and guests can arrange bush picnics or sundowners by the river. A central sunken fire pit provides a convivial spot to enjoy drinks beneath the African sky.

Activities

Guests can embark on up to three daily game drives in the Mara National Reserve, exploring rich wildlife habitats and seeking the Big Five. Private drives and bush picnics are available by request, and the Musiara Sector location ensures spectacular wildlife action close to camp.
