Boschendal

Dating back to the 17th century, this 2000 hectare Dutch colonial farm offers a great selection of luxury accommodation, award-winning wine and food experiences and a rich heritage, all in a spectacular natural landscape.

Ranging from the historical Cottage 1685 to the beautifully restored spacious farm cottages in the Orchards and the Werf, there are plenty of options ideal for authentic farm living with a contemporary feel.
Rooms at Boschendal
The old farm labourer’s cottages on the estate have been elegantly restored into colourful, stylish retreats with a touch of the old Cape Dutch charm. The Orchard Cottages are across the road and are quiet and chilled with a lovely shared swimming pool and gardens, whilst the Werf Cottages are on the main estate and have ravishing views of the mountains. Two-bedroomed Clarence Cottage is a good option for families, Trout Cottage is probably the most private and the the piece de resistance is Rhodes Cottage, the original bolthole of Cecil John Rhodes and now a stunning ‘country-house cottage’ with all mod-cons. Recently, several more cottages at The Retreat have been added; more modern in style, they are purpose-built and lack a little of the character of the main farm.
Food at Boschendal
The estate boasts an array of amazing local produce; the primary focus being soil-to-fork flavourful nourishing food. There's something for everyone, whether it's a relaxing wine tasting in the oak trees or a view from one of the top Franschhoek Wine Farm Restaurants.
Kids at Boschendal
Young adventurers can enjoy an authentic outdoor family experience by way of the farm's Outdoor Programme and Tree House playground. Under the leadership and professional guidance of the Tree House team, 5–14 year olds can enjoy a programme of activities, designed to unpack the joys of farm life and nurture love of the great outdoors.
