Victoria Falls River Lodge is the first private game lodge to be set in the Zambezi National Park.

This newly built luxury tented lodge is situated on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River – so close to Victoria Falls one can see the spray in the distance! Uninterrupted panoramic views of African sunsets and exceptional wildlife viewing makes this uniquely located lodge the ideal place from which to explore Victoria Falls as it combines the safari experience with one of the world's most famous tourist destinations!

The main lodge has an open plan design and has been positioned just back from the river – in view of the elephants' natural evening route. Sit back and sip on a cocktail, under the shade of the thatched roof, as the elephants graze along the river line. It's a cool escape from the African sun.

Victoria Falls River Lodge takes relaxation one step further offering a selection of in-room massages, pedicures and manicures. They also offer a tour desk and gift shop with an exclusive selection of high quality arts and crafts from talented local artists.

Why we like it
  • Set within Zambezi National Park
  • Spacious family suites for larger groups
  • Beautiful infinity pool looking over the river
  • Panoramic sunset views from private viewing decks
  • The perfect place to stay before or after a safari in Zimbabwe

Activities at Victorias Victoria Falls River Lodge

River Lodge is well placed to provide a full menu of activities.

  • Game drives take place during mornings and afternoons, with a Junior Discovers option for children and accompanying adult. Walking safaris are available also. This is a game-rich area of the national park and it is common for guests to spot lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, plus vast herds of giraffe, zebra, antelope, eland, kudu, impala and waterbuck.
  • Fish are abundant in the river – over 75 species! – and the lodge is able to offer fishing safaris. Other ways to get out on the water include canoe safaris and sunset cruises. The area teems with birdlife also, with more than 400 species noted here.
  • And activities for children are not limited to game drives – kids can also enjoy Young Bushwackers close to camp and Fables by Firelight, listening to traditional tales from Africa while munching on treats cooked over the bonfire. That sounds good to us too!
  • Finally, there is even more to do at Falls Bridge – bungee jumping, bridge swinging, bridge sliding – plus helicopter flights, river rafting, zip line.
Top perks
  • Close enough to see the great smoke of Victoria Falls
  • On-site tree hide overlooking a busy watering hole
  • African-chic at its very best
