Kicheche Bush Camp

In one of Africa's most lion-rich ecosystems you'll find Kicheche Bush Camp, a small, unfenced retreat in the heart of the action. If watching game or even the migration from your bed appeals, then best you visit.

This solar powered camp is one of our favourite camps in the Mara. Sometimes everything just clicks together so nicely and that's exactly what has happened here.
About Kicheche Bush Camp
Tucked among the thorny acacia trees is the central area, with its comfortable and subtly stylish main dining and lounge tent. A large square table seats everyone for meals, and beautiful decorative kelim carpets cushion your feet. An outside fire pit, ringed with canvas directors' chairs and decorated with an interesting collection of skulls and bones, is the perfect spot to watch the night roll in, with the flames crackling before you and the starry sky your canopy.
Rooms at Kicheche Bush Camp
Six expansive canvas tents stretch out on the grassy hillside around the camp. All face out to the surrounds, with nothing to interrupt the views. The tents themselves are very 'Out of Africa" in tone, with classic safari comfort and an uncluttered lounge area. Accessed via a large roll-up mosquito-protection wall is the main bedroom, with its super-comfortable bed and warm white cotton sheets. To one side is a small bathroom. You'll have no problem settling into the Kicheche experience.
Activities at Kicheche Bush Camp
The lack of set game-drives means you can plan your safari experience exactly as you wish. Want to spend the day with lions? That can be done. And, being in a low traffic area, you'll probably be the only vehicle in the area. Visit a local village, take a hot air balloon ride, picnic in the bush, or inspect the wilderness on a walking safari. The guides here are extremely knowledgeable.
